A Pinky Promise in 2017

Hello 2017, and helloooo my lovelies! How are you girls? Did you have a lovely Christmas and New Year? I bet you did, and mine was just wonderful, thank you for asking. ^3^

Between the Christmas parties, and various social gatherings I still made time to attend a midnight mass on Christmas eve. Some traditions are worth holding on to, and we need to be thankful girls for all the lovely people and things around us.

Christmas day was a jolly, and not just because of the presents – we’ll get to that in a second! I scheduled in a dance class to burn off some of that festive indulging , refreshed my mind with some good books, and of-course faced that annual struggle on which gifts to open first!

I received a fair few presents this year, most of which are skin care products and accessories which you can never have enough. Interestingly though, during a post Christmas meet up with some girlfriends, we chit-chatted about what were our all-time favourite Christmas gifts that we have ever received from the boys. Of course, the usual suspects came up, luxury handbag or a glamourous diamond ring etc. My favourite however is also a ring, but one with a special meaning, I call it my pink ring.

I still remember that night on Christmas Eve when he gave me a Christmas gift. A small subtle ring, set with a delicate but captivating gemstone. The gem was a moonstone, the symbol for love and protection. He then held my hand popped it gently onto my little finger and made me a pinky promise.

The ring may not be the most extravagant or luxurious but it is tasteful and precious. Each time I wear the ring, I still briefly relive that beautiful moment, that little promise and smile knowing everything will be alright. It’s true some love doesn’t last forever, but this pinky promise has. Now, he is a dear friend and still loves me as such, just a different kind of love.

I may not have another half by my side at this moment, but I’ve decided to buy my own pinky ring this new year – a gift and a promise to myself to always stay strong and keeping loving in 2017.

Among all the pinky rings from Entwine, I especially love the one with a little diamond heart. I will keep and take care of this little heart, until someone comes to my life and gives me theirs to love.
